ITINERARY :

• CHRISTCHURCH – FRANZ JOSEF GLACIER DAY 1

We depart from Christchurch heading for the dizzying heights of Arthur’s Pass and the stunning snow-capped Southern Alps. Then we’ll hop off in jade country and the gold-mining town of Ross. It wouldn’t be a Wild Kiwi tour without seeing one, so time permitting, we’ll pop into the National Kiwi centre. Before cruising over the spectacular Tranz Alpine crossing and arriving at Franz Josef – the gateway to Glacier country.

• FRANZ JOSEF GLACIER DAY 2

After breakfast, it’s ice o’clock. We’ll hit the Franz Josef and Fox glaciers where you can hike, helicopter, or both. These stunning formations made over thousands of years, or as Maori legend has it, from a lost lover’s tears, will have you weeping with joy. The hue, changes from turquoise to deepest blue as you hover above, or hike across them. Afterwards, celebrate your cool adventure with some ice in your drink.

• FRANZ JOSEF – QUEENSTOWN DAY 3

After breakfast, prepare to be dazzled as we take one of most spectacular natural drives in the world. Travelling along mile after mile of rugged coastline, we hit the Haast Pass where ancient rainforests, icy blue glaciers and booming waterfalls collide to create a stunning kaleidoscope of natural scenery. Catch your breath – we’ve just landed in beautiful Queenstown – the adrenaline capital of New Zealand.

• QUEENSTOWN DAY 4

Action awaits. Go off-piste and make up your own itinerary. Choose from adrenaline pumping activities like bungee jumping, canyon swings or quad biking. Maybe hit the trails for a mountain hike, or cruise around the fiord at UNESCO-listed Milford Sound. Here, mountains rise, dolphins leap, whales blow and water tumbles. After all that, kick back with a beer, drop into a party or devour NZ’s most famous burger – the Fergburger!

• QUEENSTOWN & WANAKA DAY 5

Today we take things down a gear, visiting historic Arrowtown en-route to the laid-back lakeside vibes of Wanaka. Have a go at waterskiing, kayaking or wakeboarding. Land lovers can hike it, or bike it, on one of many waterside trails. Then Cardona, where we’ll sink a beer at one of New Zealand’s oldest pub. Refreshed, we will slalom down the Crown Range Road back to Queenstown to chill, or hit the nightlife.

• LAKE TEKAPO DAY 6

Don’t feel blue about leaving Queenstown, we’re off to see another shade – the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Tekapo. It’s legendary colour comes from glaciers depositing minerals over thousands of years. Splash about in the flower flanked water and as the sun sets, the view gets even better. Lake Tekapo has been declared a Star Reserve, so as night falls we’ll celebrate the last night of the tour raising a glass to the skies.

• LAKE TEKAPO – CHRISTCHURCH DAY 7

After a final brekky, it’s back to where we began, Christchurch. The South Island’s biggest city is a vibrant, creative centre badly damaged in 2011s earthquake. But Kiwi spirit has rebuilt it to former glories. Check out the cool pop-up cafés and grab a souvenir from one of the quirky shops. Then, sadly, the epic journey is at an end. Fear not, we’ll hug it out and leave with stacks of great memories.
